  • Social protection: social security, international unemployment, introduction to retirement in France, international pension management.
  • Payroll and compensation for international assignments: introduction to payroll for international assignments, compensation calculations, compensation for international assignments.
  • Risk management: risks on international assignment and legal liability, health risk management, security risk management.
  • International mobility management: relations with and management of various internal and external contacts, international mobility support (assistance, spouse management, psychology, expatriate relations, cross-cultural issues, return management).
  • International mobility policy introduction to organizations and policies, development and implementation of an international mobility policy, international mobility tools.
  • Shared content with the people development specialization: global talent management, meetings with HR managers, career management, executive management

Target skills

  • Set, deploy and implement the company's international transfer policy and procedures in response to business challenges
  • Monitor and update applicable regulatory requirements (labor law, employment law, immigration law, tax law) to secure international transfers
  • Identify, advise and coordinate the various internal and external stakeholders involved in an international mobility project
  • Calculate, budget and analyze international transfers (remuneration packages, transfer costs, etc.)

  • Strategic issues for the HR function: implementation of international HR policies, accompanying HR in mergers and acquisitions, organizational efficiency.
  • Talent management: career management/executive management, talent management, talent acquisition, management of experts
  • Skills development: strategic workforce planning, skills development, training
  • Diversity, engagement, inclusion: CSR/quality of work life/diversity, social measures, engagement survey, international HR communication
  • Compensation &  Benefits : rémunération, avantages sociaux 
  • Meetings with HR and general managers 
  • Shared content with the international mobility specialization: support for international mobility, legal framework, compensation principles, new forms of assignment, VIE, graduate programs, risk management

Target skills

  • Design and implement a talent management system in the entities of an international group: identification and development with a view to attraction and retention
  • Set up and deploy CSR plans, in particular their HR and learning & development components
  • Grasp the basics of international mobility policies and processes to include them in your career management system
  • Understand the basics of C&B policies and processes to make them a tool for attracting and retaining talent

Key points:

  • An 11.5-month program (490 class hours)

  • Program combining classroom-based training and in-company days (detailed schedule on request)
  • 2 learning expeditions abroad (Singapore or Dubai and New York)
  • An active teaching approach, combining lectures, round-table discussions with HR practitioners illustrating real-life situations, and case studies in project mode.
  • On-site classes based in the 15th arrondissement of Paris
 
Assessment methods:
  • Ongoing skills tests (December, January and June)
  • Submission of a professional thesis (August) and defense (September)
  • Graduation in November of the following year

On successful completion of the course, the RNCP39242 ( level 7) International HR Manager qualification (registered with the RNCP under the ruling published on 05/07/2024 with an expiry date of 27/06/2027) and the MBA International HR Management qualification from Institut Magellan are awarded.

This course is open to anyone with at least a Bac+4 qualification (or international equivalent), or, in exceptional cases, a Bac+3 qualification (or international equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years' experience. 

It is open to recent graduates, current professionals and those undergoing retraining. It can be taken as a program combining classroom-based and in-company training programs on a contrat de professionnalisation or internship (depending on your financing method).

Step 1: submitting your application

Send your application by email to contact@magellan-institute.com with:

  • the application form
  • your CV
  • a cover letter (2 pages maximum)
  • a copy of your identity document
  • your most recent certificate of results in a recognized English test (If you do not have this certificate, you will be required to take an English test prior to the admissions session).
  

Step 2: Admissions session (half day)

Once we have examined your application and shortlisted profiles that match our criteria, you will be invited to attend a half-day admissions session, which will include:

  • An interview with a panel of professionals and a course leader (in French) to discuss your motivations for enrolling.
  • An oral English test, plus a written test if you cannot provide the result of an appropriate official test
N.B. a €95 application fee will be charged (for participants in a selection session only). This fee is retained by the Institut Magellan, even if the candidate is not retained or does not complete all or part of the selection tests, for whatever reason.

The schedule is generally 3 weeks in-company for 1 week at the Institut.
